I am having a problem with my wireless internet. My computer is telling me there are no networks in range, and I know there are because the modem is sitting right beside the computer. It is saying that my wireless switch is not on. How do I do that?

OK, I guess I should explain a little more. It worked perfectly fine until last night when my cat decided to walk on the keyboard (I know, I know, no need to explain that a cat shouldn't be walking on my keyboard, I already know). Anyways, I don't know if she hit a certain set of buttons or what, but I was on the internet when she did it, then it kicked me off and I haven't been able to use the wireless since. It works if I use an ethernet cord and actually hook my computer into the modem, but it doesn't detect the wireless.

Hahaha.. sounds to me like ur cat turn off the wireless on/off switch on ya. U just need to find out where this switch is located on ur side of ur laptop or a case where u have to press one of the combo keys. Refer to manual on for laptop.

You say your "modem" is sitting right beside the computer. Now is your modem connected to a wireless router? If not I would suggest asking your neighbor to kindly turn his back on! Or buying one of your own! <--better idea. Now that I've basically called you stupid which Im hoping im wrong. Check to make sure your antenna's on your router are secure and tight. Unplug the modem and router and plug the modem in first untill all lights lock in, then plug back in your router. Hope this helps.

May be that u have yet not configured wireless configuration in ur PC or use 0 db antenna with ur modem.
