you don't
you need access to the firewall to open up the ports
Actually, I don't use limewire so I don't know about that program specifically....but if you use a p2p which allows you to specify which ports to use then you might have something to work with. See if you have ports open in your firewall already...such as for aim or other instant messaging or any other program for that matter. Then just use those ports in your p2p if it lets you set them manually.

I'm assuming you're talking about Windows Firewall and not another program. If so, here is what you need to do:
You must be logged on to this computer as an administrator to complete this procedure.
Open Windows Firewall. (start, control panel, security center, under Manage Security settings for: heading, click on Windows Firewall icon)
On the Exceptions tab, under Programs and Services, select the check box for the program or service that you want to allow, and then click OK.
If the program (or service) that you want to allow is not listed:
Click Add Program.
In the Add a Program dialog box, click the program that you want to add, and then click OK. The program will appear, selected, on the Exceptions tab, under Programs and Services.
Click OK.
If the program (or service) that you want to allow is not listed in the Add a Program dialog box:
In the Add a Program dialog box, click Browse, locate the program that you want to add, and then double-click it. (Programs are usually stored in the Program Files folder on your computer.) The program will appear under Programs, in the Add a Program dialog box.
Click OK. The program will appear, selected, on the Exceptions tab, under Programs and Services.
Click OK
NOTE: By doing this, you're exposing yourself to risks such as virus, trojans, malwares and others. Do this at your own peril. If you need to do this, I'd suggest installing an Antivirus app or an anti-spyware/malware app to give you back some protection.
Hope this helps :-)
