my laptop how do i fix this?

For wireless connections to work as in the answer above they have to be enabled. Be sure that it is turned on.
Second to connect to the internet wirelessly you have to have something to connect too. If you have a wireless access point in your home then you connect to it. If you are out in public or away from everything then there may not be any thing you can connect to so it will not work. Just like with wired internet it has to connect to something.

check you INTERNET CONNECTION setting...you need to tell the hardware to come on ..if you also check you DECIVE MANAGER...it'll show you if the part is ON or not...if there is a red "X" by it then right click and click ENABLE..
