You need a wireless card in your computer. If it is already built in, that is the one you should use.

I'm not an expert on the subject but I'll try my best. I have wireless built into my laptop as well. At home, I have cable, which is my internet provider...I needed to get a router to hook to my cable modem to be able to use my laptop without being hooked up to the modem. Some places have free wi-fi or whatever it is (coffee shops and the like) where you'll be able to pick up a signal with your laptop. You can go the way of the network card if you don't want to have to worry about finding a signal wherever you go. I considered it, but didn't feel like forking over the money for it.

No. If your computer has wireless built in, thats all you need for the computer itself. At home, if you have an internet connection, you will also need a wireless router, this will allow your computer to connect to the cable, dsl, or dial up modem, which ever you have.

You will need a Host and a Client.

The router is the host, which provides the wireless activity, the laptop/desktop will connect wirelessly which is the client.

So you will need two wireless devices, the router and then the pcmcia/usb or internal wifi for your laptop to connect to the router.

If you already have it built-in then you don't need anything else....you can use the adapter to connect to any hot-spot including a router you setup yourself

First you'll want internet service. call your cable television and telephone businesses and note what they are going to grant. then you fairly'll want a on the spot router - i advise the Linksys WRT54GS. in case you opt for to connect a pc computing gadget you'll want a on the spot adapter - maximum laptops have them equipped in.
