Hey guys,
I have a Netgear 311 PCI Wireless adapter and a Belkin F5D7633-4 wireless modem router.

This is my current connection:

10 metre phone line running to the modem which is connected via ethernet cable to my computer.

What i am wanting to do is leave the modem in the kitchen connect that to the phone line.
And run the internet wirelessly through the PCI Adapter?

I have tried but the signal keeps dropping in and out and even when it's green lighted for 30 seconds i cant get on the net.

okay the modem is right near the computer and th epci adapter and it keeps on scanning through the channels on the netgear pci adapter.

anyone else know why ?

here are pics to describe what i am saying.

1 - here you can see down the bottom all it does is scan

2 - but on the next screen it says connection is at 100%... why is it always scanning.
i turned off the key phrase thing too.

It seems as though at some point I got VNC to work to connect from my Windoze machine to a Linux box running ubuntu, but I don't remember how exactly I did it and this is really a different question since I want to connect from a Mac to a Windoze machine. I've already read http://www.redstonesoftware.com/products/vine/server/vineosx/index.html
and looked at Dameware software (which it seems is just Windoze based). I can use Remote Desktop from my girlfriends house, but it doesn't seem to work from campus (UNC). I can connect to machines on campus though. I connect to a Vista box at work from my XP box at home. My terminal skills are very newb, so I would need a very complete explanation. THANKS!

Wireless-N router? I have a Wireless-G router now, but was thinking of upgrading to a Wireless-N router, but I don't know the difference. On the box of the Wireless-N router (made my Linksys), it says my laptop needs to have a wireless-N notebook adapter, but my wireless device is internal, not an adapter.

So basically, how can I found out if my laptop will work with a Wireless-N router?

I am unable to share my files or printer, but I am able to share internet access. Any suggestions as to a fix?
I have Windows XP Media Center on my laptop; Windows XP Pro on my desktop, and I have a Linksys wireless G broadband router (WRT54GS ver 6).
It seems to me that there is a firewall or some other security access preventing me from sharing files on both PCs. Any help is greatly appreciated.

We are about to get Wireless Internet piped into our home. I have a wireless desktop card in my computer that can search for wireless connections. I was wondering if when we get wireless on the main computer, if, by using the wireless card, I could pick up the connection in my bedroom. I was hoping I could eliminate the need for a router. Thanks guys!!

I use a USB modem to connect to my DSL internet connection.

However, I have a new computer (this time a notebook) which allows my to connect to the internet wireless.

Therefore, I need to know how I could connect my USB modem into a WIRELESS connection for my lap top in order to use it anywhere within my household.
