The FAXprinter does not normally install with windows so you must install that first. Control panel/Add remove programs/add remove windows components and put a tick in the Fax services box. Click OK, it will probably ask for your windos disk and then install the FAX printer.
Now it's installed from any application when you click print from File you will be able to select Fax and it will start a wizard to guide you through the rest.

If you have a fax-capable modem, then you can compose the the fax and "print" it to the fax device.... when you select print, there is usually an option to select the printer you need. The fax device appears as just another printer.
When you "print", you'll be asked to provide fax number, etc.

The actual details will vary, depending on which operating system you use, but the principle remains the same
