Why do we need to be able to convert between decimal and binary for IP addressing?

That is computers languange.it helps to identify hosts in the network and to restrict hosts on other networks that are private.

You don't need to be able to convert.

Decimal IP addressing format is for human being while binary format is for computer language. If you can remember the binary format, then it's great.
