It seems as though at some point I got VNC to work to connect from my Windoze machine to a Linux box running ubuntu, but I don't remember how exactly I did it and this is really a different question since I want to connect from a Mac to a Windoze machine. I've already read http://www.redstonesoftware.com/products/vine/server/vineosx/index.html
and looked at Dameware software (which it seems is just Windoze based). I can use Remote Desktop from my girlfriends house, but it doesn't seem to work from campus (UNC). I can connect to machines on campus though. I connect to a Vista box at work from my XP box at home. My terminal skills are very newb, so I would need a very complete explanation. THANKS!

Ok, I had the router port open, but not the port on the Windoze Firewall. All is well now...assuming it works off network too....which is what started all of this anyway since Remote Desktop worked internally. THIS IS RESOLVED!

You have to open the port on the router
