I did some changes inside my home and had to re organize the coax cables. I got some 2 way and one 3 way splitter but now i see there is signal loss everywhere afecting the quality of the picture and killing the cable modem signal.

I need some recomendations about how to set up the lines and what cable ampliffier should i buy.
I read some stuff by googling and know it needs to have a return channel or something like that, and im clueless about the MHZ things,

I just made a scheme of my current setup. you can see it here:

Any suggestions and recommendations are very welcome.

Just one detail... the cable modem needs to stay where it is because i have it connected to a linux firewall and other networking stuff, i can not move it to the living room, where i know it would be the best place.

Thank you very much!

For some reason, I am super confused right now. So lets say I purchase an Access Point (just say the D-Link 54mbps access point) and the linksys 5 port Switch (autosensing one), will it work? The access point would be connecting WIRELESSLY to a 2wire Wireless router. And the access point will be connecting WIRED to the switch. And the switch will go to all the computers close to it WIRED. I really do not want to purchase the wrong hardware :( plz help thanks

. How do I shut this down or take my computer out of this network? Also I read mapping network drives the option I get when right clicking one of these "networks " I can use to "map shared drives and shared folders. When you access a shared drive or folder you can also access subfolders if you have the appropriate permissions However, you cannot map a drive for a subfolder that is not explicitly configured as a shared resource." Too bad mapping network drives option is disabled on each one. I think I didn't configure my C drive and D drive by now to not share any files. No folder's properties have their share this folded box ticked on them but for some reason I don't have the appropriate permission to access any of these networks to view them but I think its working the other way around the other side of that network can browse me. How can I disable these workgroups or enable myself permission to view whats inside of them-thanks
