i have Acer aspire 3000 laptop. XP sp2. built in wifi card. was able to connect to college wifi and public library wifi. went on vacation and can't access the internet on either signal now. while others can. can still surf net on uncle's wifi.

I cannot connect to the internet because I can't find the wireless network connection. My laptop is capable of connected wireless. However, when i turned it on one day it just got lost. I didn't install any program recently. What could have gone wrong? What should I do to have it back?

The IT people have come to my PC and changed something with Outlook. This was unrequested 'help' and now they won't be back in my neck of the woods for another week.

Now I have 2 calendars in Outlook (Calendar and Calendar in Personal Folders). I'd be happy to use just the Personal Folders Outlook because it has all my dates in there, but it will not show any alerts when dates come up.

how can I fix this?

I need to send some files about 250 mb to my friend. What is an easy way to directly send these files without uploading them to a server first like yousendit or Pando has to do. I heard maybe I could use my torrent client Azureus or utorrent but don't know if that's possible.
Any thoughts!

I have had this router for about a year now and it has always worked fine. But recently i started going to my grandma's house so she doesnt feel lonely( grandpa passed away 4 yrs. ago). I have a computer and high speed internet over there but i cant program my router to work on her computer. The one time i got it to work it lagged about every 20 sec. for a good 3 sec. while i was playin Socom FTB2 on my PSP. Can you help me find out whats wrong.
P.S. i switched the ip address from 196.168.0.1 to 196.168.0.250 to work better with my xbox 360. how can i make that ip address work with her internet?

Ok I have two questions for yall.
1. First while copying a local user profile I made a big mistake. The user had 2 accounts 'Administrator' and 'admin' I accidentally deleted the user 'admin' assuming the 'Administrator was the local account(of course I chose wrong). Anyways, the local admin folder is still in tact and I would like to just add the local admin user back, however each time I try to add it it makes a new folder, admin/localdomain. Is there a way I can make it work?

2. For some reason even after a Account Copy all Microsoft programs do not show up and need to be reinstalled. Is this normal and is there any way to get around it??

I have a Linksys WAP11 router with the stock antennas, no range boosting ones. I used to be able to go next door and have a signal. I go there now and I can't get a signal anymore. I remember pointing the antennas directly up because they looked weird being crooked. Does the range increase, even by a bit if I point the antenna to where I want to go?

it worked for the longest time and now all of a sudden when i am hooked up through the wireless router i get page will not display page.. the cat 5 from the wireless router also does not work. only way i can get internet to work is strait from the dsl modem.

I have a gateway 2wire modem and this is driving me crazy!!! I need as much help as i can. I rebooted my computer one day and now i only get an orange light for my broadband connection. NEVER green. Everything else works fine besides, well obviously the most important part. Ive tried everything i could think of. Ive gone on the TCP/IPv4 changed the IP there, I've tried following the steps giving to me by the cd but that didnt help. Their IP adress 196.###.#.### didnt help because i couldnt connect to it. I've also disconnected it and powered it off for a while and replugged it back in. This all started with me pressing the reset button on the back because before that everything was green but for some reason i still got limited on my TCP/Pv6. I only get limited connection. ANYONE please help, with any suggestions whatsoever!

i have installed Administrative Tools for windows 2003 "adminpak "on windows xp
I want to configure it , this machine act as server (internet gateway for 100 PCs ) .
I have 2 Adsl line .i connected every adsl to ethernet adpter in the server . all network connected to the third ethernet adpter
so the server have 3 connections.
i want all network PCs to be connected to two adsl lines , and if one line disconnected and other one work...so i should use Administrative Tools for windows ....but i dont know how to configure it.
anybody help plz
the three connection are :

adsl1 ip address 84.36.64.101 255.255.255.248

adsl2 ip address 84.36.47.44 255.255.255.248

lan ip address (gateway for PCs) 10.10.10.10 255.0.0.0

I am trying to get the Wireless-G Notebook Adapter with SpeedBooster (Model No. WPC54GS) to connect to a Linksys G Router WRT54G version 2 with no success:

I used a Linksys G Router WRT54G version 2 which was eventually connected to a Comcast Cable Modem (Arris Model 7M502G). The software is installed on a IBM laptop. I have a IBM X22 laptop which is not wireless but I utilized a Wireless-G Notebook Adapter with Speed Booster with the software installed to talk to the WRT54G.

I was able to connect to the router in two different situations, using WEP and WPA, but the problem is i get an error stating that I am able to connect to the router, but unable to access the internet.

The firmware was updated on the router. Also drivers were updated on the laptop which has the Wireless G notebook adapter.

I called Comcast Cable and was told that I may need to use a WAG54G version 2 or ADSL version 2 router which is compatible with the ARRIS modem.

my 2wire modem has an orange light for the broadband connection. Theres 3 lights and all should be green (power, broadband link, and local network). My power and local network is working fine but the broadband is orange. In order for it to be green i have to configure it by going to http://homeportal/setup or http://192.168.1.254 or http://172.16.0.1 the problem is that I cannot connect to any of these. The modem is suppose to be able to connect to homeportal/setup since thats the only way to configure my settings to get the broadband link green. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?

When our server boots up, sometimes it is unable to do the following:

1. Contact a domain controller

or

2. Obtain group policies from the domain controller.
