Computer Networking - March 2007

Hi,
I want to know about wi fi networking, we have boardband connection can we use this single connection to connect to 5 to 6 computer which are nearly 300 meters away form my office.
will the data transfer properly with this networking.
what may the cost to do this.

I've posted a similar question but here's the rundown.
the ethernet doesn't fit my modem so it is plugged into the pc. it is also a second hand console so so i need to wipe it then make new settings etc. I would be eternally grateful if someone could tall me exactlty what i need to do.

Trying to get my network back up with two windows xp machines. This is an ethernet peer to peer network. We just share files and a printer. Unfortunately I cant get the network back up. Firewalls are down both seem to be in the same workgroup however each machine does not see the other one. Appreciate any advice. I have run the network wizard several times. Both machines are in a workgroup called OFFICE but they dont see each other.

is possible to use two ISP to connect to Internet? My current ISP is not good. Sometime I got "Request time out". I have plan to use two ISP, so if one ISP is "dead", the internet connection is automatically switches to second ISP. What software and hardware that needed to apply this idea?

i have a bsnl router for connect wan connection to my network.
now i am establish it as centralized router to all the pcs in my setup. it has been executed. where i can able to browse internet only from my server. i cant browse from client. i also give the default gateway to those clients and i had ping test. the is coming. anybody do know anyway to connect and resolve this kind of prom.

My existing modem is USB but there seems to be a problem with the USB connection on my comp. I have an Intel (R) Pro/100VE Network Connection Ethernet card fitted (it came with the comp). I would like to fit a Netgear DG834G wireless modem/router through the ethernet connection can it be done? and how . If it can be done do I have to keep the original modem running after set up of Netgear and then delete the software for original modem. Please Please HELP. My comp is the one that rymes with Hell --- so trying to get info is a nightmare. However we learn from our mistakes. The ISP is TalkTalk and the modem is a Thomson Speedtouch.

i tried typing in "admin or administrator" in the username and in the password feild i type in "password" or i just leave it blank.coz i never even tried setting up a password for it...and im sure that my speedtouch is on it's default settings cause i reseted it more that once and i never changed or knew how to change it..whenever i want to setup my modem, it asks for the speedtouch username and password..can someone pls help?

I have a small domain where 2003 is server and 2000/Xp is client. I have AD installed with different users log in using their IDs. I have proxy server installed in the server to connect and share internet ( Naviscope ). Now I want a report of which user visits what site. please don't give ISA fundas, I don't have money to go for highend proxy servers, or routers.

I have a server installed Server 2003, DNS, DHCP, Domain (something.XX.com) and Exchange Server 2003. I would like to send and receive e-mail from the mail boxes and I have been able to send e-mail to yahoo.com, but can not receiver from yahoo or other domains. We have a business group here and I would like to setup an exchange server that would receive and send e-mails both. I would like to know if I need to buy or register for a domain please and after I got that domain (www.xxx.com) then what I need to do please help me out.

it happens like every 5 to 10 minutes
