when u said u have two PCs with Windows Xp installed and did not mention anything about having a server OS, then please believe me that u don't have any server.
U only have a workgroup ( peer-2-peer ).
Try something like Netmeeting. It is built in and and comes bundled with Windows. If u are using a pirated one then it is as good as free.

I love free items

Just open Netmeeting by typing "conf" in start-run and press enter in bothe the machines. write the ip address of the second machine in the netmeeting window of the first machine and click dial. accept the call in the 2nd machine.
now whichever machine's desktop u want 2 share, goto that machine's netmeeting window and goto tools-sharing, select desktop and click share, click allow control, now right click the user u want to give control to and click grant control. goto the other machine accept the control and say cheeeeeze.

Now if ur netmeeting is not configured then first click Next-fill up the info and click next-select do not list my name in directory service-click next- select LAN-click next and click all nexts and atlast finish now Netmeeting window will open up. Then follow the above process.

also if u want to see their(whose??????) passwords, then easiest way for u to do that will be to use any free keylogger. But logon password u cannot see but can change as administrator. There are softwares though which can do that for you. check the following link:

OK first, if you just have two computers, what makes one the server? What you have is simply two computers in a peer to peer network unless you have a server operating system installed on one. (You can call one the server if you like but it really isn't) If both are XP Home you don't have server software.

You can control either one using remote desktop. If remote service is enabled on them. Or you can get other software like vnc, pcanywhere, etc. If you are running server software like Windows 2003 it has control software built in for remote administration etc.

If you are the administrator you can set the passwords for the users so why do you need to "view" the logon passwords?

little vague there....
Yes, you could control the second computer with remote desktop knowing it's name or it's ip address. There are other programs freeware and shareware that can help you control it. Take a look at www.lifehacker.com. Should find some useful things there for this. As for viewing their logon passwords, only if their stored on a server. You can use a keylogger or another program like it. Hope this helps.
