I am an auctioneer and am in need of a device that will connect my laptop with a Desktop up to 200 feet away. I use this at auctions. 1 for the Mobile Office and 1 out in the field. I need to transfer bidders information to the Cashier at the mobile office. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Well you could use a wireless router and just connect it to both machines they are then connected. You could also do this with just an access point connected to your "main" computer and connect to that from your laptop.
You can get Dlink, Linksys, Buffalo, any manufacturers units will work for this.

You could even do this with two wireless adapters set to "Ad-Hoc" mode which allows two or more comupters to directly work with each other when there is not an access point.
Here is a link to MS to do this

All wireless does is replace a wire so you still need to setup the "network" for the machines to talk to each other.

If you need help, call in a pro. They can set this up securely and easily.

Get a wireless router. this will enable you to connect several computers or network printers to it. if your computer does not have a wireless network card, you can connect it to the router with an ordinary straight through network cable, if the router has the ability to support that.
