Say a boring old windows PC that is programmed to ask a network time server what the time is every now and then in an ordinary, non-souped-up way, and slew itself back into sync if it loses it... how accurate will it be? roughly?

The PC is switched on continuously and is always on the net.

My wireless network is protected with WEP 128. Unfortunately my private pc's Windows XP doesn't seem to be compatible because the maximum protection is 104. Does anyone knows a patch or a solution for this problem?

I have a laptop that has built in wireless and I have a wireless router. No problem there.

I have another computer that I bought a USB adapter for, so I could connect that to the internet. I hooked it up and it connected, but it would disconnect and re connect, over and over.

I thought the USB adapter was bad, so I bought another one, but this time I got a PCI adapter, I hooked it up and it does the same thing, connects and disconnects over and over.

Does anyone know what could be wrong. It's connecting on G but even If I use B, it does the same thing.

I don't think it can be the router, since I connect with the laptop and have no problem.

Is it possible that my other computer (desktop) just doesn't want to connect wirelessly.

I use windows xp service pack 2, distance from the router is only about 20 feet, through 1 wall. I just don't don't understand what could be wrong.

All I'm saying is that we get some kind of bonus for all this work right?

Not unless you're bent on being the king of the forum.....ah, well....I'm not really up for the usual, "I've posted more than you" forum bullshit, and really....would just like to have a chunk of my already massively empty mailbox given back to me as some BW and memory for hosting music on my other forums.

Can I do that? I like the community here, I've already got an account.....who else out there thinks we should get something USEFUL for giving Yahoo! a huge community of new bloggers?

What ideas do you have?
Who should I ask that to for real?

Because, really....I just want some free hosting.
Help me out!

We have 2 computers hooked up together in a LAN. The two computers both share an cable internet connection. Once in a while the internet just stops working (on both computers). I don't know why this is. I can fix it by disconnecting and reconnecting the cable at the modem.
The problem is, I don't always have access to the modem and the first computer, and so I can't always unplug and replug in the cable.
I've tried unplugging and plugging back in the cable at the back of my computer but that does'nt fix the problem. Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it without access to the modem?
