What is your operating system? Are you talking about the dog that does the searches? Have you seen the paper clip guy in Microsoft Office? You need to be more specific in order to get your question answered. You are probably talking about Windows Assistant or Office Assistant. Please describe the function in better detail so we know what you're talking about.

In Word, click on Help and then Show the Office Assistant.

You're probably referring to the icon for the program "Win Patrol". Perhaps you uninstalled it. It's a great program, and free. You can download the program at the below link.
