Firstly you might find it very interesting...
Try to search on yahoo for "add web page to yahoo" (with/without the quotes) You will notice that your query tops the list on Yahoo Search ;)
In any case, if you want a simple answer.. What you can do is go to http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html and submit your page so that yahoo adds your page to its database. But the trick here is Yahoo dosent guarantee it will add your page.
The same goes with google, what complicates it with respect to google is that google it ranks your pages based on how people link to your page. for more read http://www.google.com/technology/ so google does not really bother about what you add to the meta tags of your page. In fact google ignores them. It is primarily bothered with whats in your Title & also how well your page ranks in its method.
So coming back to the main question, Want more people coming to your site? then add your page to the Search Engines. Have better Meta Tags with a good description of your site.
You can also use a few of the commercial services, like the premium/sponsered content on google or yahoo. Pay them money and you Website lands way before the others :D
Some other softwares promise better search results too. Check them out

good luck doing it for free
what i did was in the meta tag put a word in that noone else would
i used my first middle and last name with no spaces then told people to google me using my full name with no spaces
i was the first on the list
another was is to google an email address, etc.

but before adding, you have to edit ur meta tags, this is in ur website code, u have to enter words through which the search engine determines wat type of website yu have. for example, if ur site is a hotel website, then ur meta words should be like. "hotel best food mexican italian burger ....." something which people us e to search with..

submitt ur website to yahoo search engine.. or any number of other search engines.some r free some r not ......
