i have just shown a mate how to hide a file..told how to unhide it but he doesnt seem to hav the 'folder options' in the tool menu..this is XP we r using...and i tried gettin the files back through folder properties..nad it isnt working...
can anyone help ASAP!
is there ny shortcut keys to access folder options?? or any alternative method?

I recently bought some new recordable discs "DVD+R" to copy some documents from "My documents" so I can put them on another computer. When I try to copy, I get a message that there is no disc in the drive even though there is one there.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong? Did I buy the wrong type of disc? The process won't work with "DVD-R" either.

I have 2 pcs,one upstairs for the children and downstairs for all the family, I would like to have the 2 pc's connected to the internet, do i need wireless or can i use a cable running of my modem to connect to the pc upstairs?? please help with sensible answers thanks.

My old apple mac was stolen with all my iTunes on it. I still have my iPod, with all my old songs but how do i get all those songs back to my new Mac? If I try and sync the iPod to the computer it deletes all my existing songs so does this mean I can never get any new songs onto my iPod without my old computer????

My boss has asked me to trouble shoot a problem. She tries to "print preview" an Excel spreadsheet she's been using for the last year and it allows her to view the document but ONLY in black and white. She NEEDS to be able to print preview it in color.

NOW... she never had a color printer attached before, her default print was a black and white printer and the program would allow her to view her document in color. But now, after she's been away on business she's come back to work and is trying to use the same spreadsheet but it will only preview in black and white.

I've check the page setup options, and the check box that says "black and white" is unchecked.

Does anyone else have any ideas?!?!

I am cataloging my uncle's CD collection, over 400 cd's. He wants me to use a spreadsheet and include the artist, cd title, and each song name. he wants to be able to print an alphabetical list of the artists with a slot to put in which cd slot in his 400 cd changer they are located in. he also wants to be able to print out an alphabetical list of the songs and be able to write down which slot they are in.

am i able to do this with a simple spreadsheet? Help!!

I don't like the newer version, it freezes my computer up for some reason. There's a button at the top that allows you to go back to the older version, but me and my mom have to share this computer so we're constantly logging in and out of our emails, and every time you log in/out of your email you have to click the older version button again!

Is there anyway to keep it on the older version permanently?

I have been asked to create a spreadsheet template for my supervisor. Basically, what he wants to be able to do is take a bunch of totals and rank them (first, second, third, etc.) In other words, if the following data appears in a row:

Joe Jane David Mike Sara Diane
100 97 63 27 75 84

...and he has a ranking chart as follows:

1.
2.
3.
etc.

... he wants the column next to each number to auto-populate with the person who ranks #1, #2, etc.

If it helps, what he is doing is taking 9 billers and entering their daily totals, summing the weekly totals at the bottom, and finding who is #1, #2, etc., for total claims billed in a week.

I have discovered the RANK function, but have discovered its limitation: I can't do what he wants to do if two people have the same total. In other words, if both Sara and Diane bill 75 claims, it won't return a person in fourth place or denote a tie for third.

Any suggestions?

Finaly is it worth it to buy the lexar 4gb lightning for 60 bucks to use just for the extra boost? and can you use flash drives to increase the amout of video Ram? i have a compaq pesario f500 (spelling??) with 1g of ram, 1.7 amd x2 prosesor and a 120gb hdd with a navida graphics card up to 300mb video ram or so, its a strange number around 300. but yea let me know what you guys can :)
