Hello All,
on reading the posts here, i had downloaded the smitfraud software and run the utility. it has removed the antivirgear pop up.
But i still see it in my start up programs by going to run and msconfig( i had deactivated it as not relevant for startup)
i have macafee installed.
how can i delete that file too and make sure nothing else is there on my pc?

Please advise me, as i am very anxious as to what will happen to the system

How come recently when I delete my temporary internet files and then after i log on to myspace, the pictures doesn't show up like people's display pictures and stuff? Does anyone know?

I have 1 pc with a video card and so it has 2 monitor sockets the integrated one and the one of the video card, i was wondering if i can conect 2 monitors and somehow usethem to work in the same windows instance, i've seen you can move the mouse pointer from one monitor trhough the other one and so you can have a wider view of windows.

How i do this???

i have this laptop that i need to get the memory off of and on to a portable hardrive.problem is,the laptop wont kick up.itll turn on but nothing will show up on the screen and the activity light only blinks once.i tried hooking it up to an external source via s-video and nothing.im pretty sure its the motherboard but i just want a second opinion

My friend said IDE is typically 150-300mb per second where as SATA 2 is 3gb/s. Is this true? I keep reading that Sata and IDE are pretty much the same only that SATA has better cables.

Sometimes (not every time) I turn my computer on for the last week I get a message that says "A network cable is unplugged." I have unplugged and replugged all cables and made sure that none of them are bad and they are all plugged in tight and there is nothing wrong with them. I discovered (by accident) that when this happens if I only log out of my XP account and then cut the power to the computer without going through the shutdown process, the next time I turn the computer on the problem is gone, but I know this is hard on my system and don't want to keep doing it that way - I would like to find and resolve the problem. I've been told by various people this could be about 4 different things so I'm looking for help/suggestions from someone with computer knowledge.

The email is from a "Yahoo Lottery Promo" and states it is from the UK. As I have "won" dozens of "Lotteries" from Ireland to the US, I would assume that this is also a scam. Will Yahoo intervene and put a stop to it? This scam is using the Yahoo name...

Connecting to RV016 firewall router, my XP users can connect using the Quick VPN client, but Vista users are having problems.

From the router side it shows that they are successfully connecting, but at the user end it says no.

Tech support is useless because they don't speak ENGLISH (man I hate that!).

Anyone else had this issue?

My question is this...

I recently purchased and installed a WPC54G Ver 3.1 notebook adapter for my laptop. Strangely when I use the windows zero configuration and try to add my university's wireless network it does not seam to have any support for WPA/WPA2. Using the linksys client works fine for most standard networks with WPA/WPA2 but is unsuitable for my uni one. After searching furiously for a WPA driver fix to this problem I could not find one. Any ideas?

I'm writing a batch script for Windows Server 2003 that extracts data from one database and loads it to another on a different machine. I want to test the output file for records in order to prevent the second step from attempting to load the file if it is empty (wasting resources and possibly causing an abend). Where can I get info on errorlevels?
