Hello All,
on reading the posts here, i had downloaded the smitfraud software and run the utility. it has removed the antivirgear pop up.
But i still see it in my start up programs by going to run and msconfig( i had deactivated it as not relevant for startup)
i have macafee installed.
how can i delete that file too and make sure nothing else is there on my pc?

Please advise me, as i am very anxious as to what will happen to the system

Thanks in Advance

If the antivirgear was unchecked in ms config when you cleaned the PC, then it would not be removed from the msconfig listing. Anything unchecked there is ignored by the computer.

It is a registry setting that needs to be cleared to get rid of the msconfig listing. Go to http://download.com and get the free program CCleaner. It includes a nice registry cleaner which should remove that listing from the msconfig.

If it does not, then the antivigear was not completely removed from your PC. You will need to follow the link the Sly_Old gave for the manual removal instructions.
