You can get anyone you want, it's just a matter of taste. However, you need to know which kind of video card you need. PCI, PCI-E, or AGP. PCI-E performs the fastest. PCI and AGP are ok. You can determine this by either opening up your case and looking (Google images for PCI, PCI-E and AGP if you don't know what they look like), or you can take it to Geek Squad or a friend who knows and let them tell you.

I personally like ATI, but that's just because it was the first ever graphics card I bought and I stuck with it. You might be into gaming (but I DOUBT it with the setup you have). If you are, you might want one of the nVidia GeForce's.

Video card also known as display card or graphic card. There are 3 types of video card in the market PCI, AGP and built-in display card. Display card has different size of memory; there are 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB and etc.

Base on my experience AGP video card is the best for old computer but I'm not really sure whether your motherboard has AGP slot or not. If your motherboard has AGP slot then i recommend you to buy any brand of AGP video card with at least 128MB (128 Bit) or higher. But for playing save it is better to buy any brand of PCI video card with at least 128MB memory or higher. This is because of most of motherboard has PCI slot.

In fact, if your current display card is built-in on motherboard, you still can have AGP video card if your motherboard has AGP slot or PCI video card for PCI slot.

I doubt anyone can give you that information off hand without knowing a little more information.
There could be as high as 3 different Motherboards used on your machine.
Normally you need the paperwork that accompanied the build of your computer that gives all the technical components that were used when your computer was made. You might try Nvidia and see if they offer a scan of your system and offer an upgrade, or replacment to your original.

reminiscence and video card are 2 quite a few issues. definite, the video card has reminiscence on it.. in spite of the indisputable fact that it seems such as you're choose greater reminiscence as in ram. as far as a upgrading the video card; no longer with out changing the motherboard to a minimum of one with a greater effective built on pics chip. this might probably value around 285.00 at a interior of sight pc save to do. What you're able to do is improve your reminiscence, additionally standard as ram.
