I am trying to find programs on my computer but they are nowhere to be found, I knoowI had Word and Office but I dont knwo where they went. Does anyone know how i can reinstall or find these programs.. I do not have the XP disk.

place she rented it from about the problem she is having sence she wasn't given a windows disc so she can't redo windows. she was told she needed to find a program to fix the problem. well the problem is it is very hard to get on line anymore, she keeps getten alot of pop ups an freezing up the computer, and she keeps getten a alert sign saying that her computer is in danger an has a virus. she doesn't have the money to fix it right now, so does anyone know of any good programs she can download and use for free to fix this problem? alot of them say there free but after you download them then they say to pay to use it. are theren any good ones for free. PLEASE HELP neither of us really know to much about computers.

I'm trying to really free up space on my computer and its like A LOT of fragmented files were there. My computers capacity is 37 GB and last month I had 10 GB of my own memory and the computer had its own memory of 27 GB. I now have 3 GB of memory left but its still saying that i have low disk space (like 200MB left). I really need help on this.

When I got high-speed, I was able to watch "Heroes" on www.nbc.com. Now when I go to that site, I see a blank screen.

I tried another browser. It prompted me to download ActiveX. I did so. I get "please select an episode below", but there is nothing to click on. I am having similar trouble with other sites.
I don't know if it's one of my adblockers, and I don't see how I can add this site to "allowed sites" if it is.

I'm trying to put together an upgrade, currently unstable: running fine in Linux but Windows XP is not even installable with Blue Screen. Fanning the CPU running at about 40 celsius.

Parts:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Socket 939 from eBay
ECS nForce3 Socket 939 from eBay
256 megs of PC2100 DDR 266 from an older AMD 2000+ machine, hopefully this is only thing wrong I do have half a mind to get DDR 400 probably 1GB in qty.

I experienced unstability before that prevent Windows from installing, coupled with low heat I suspect unstability again. I realized this is quite obsolete spec but hardcore gaming is not my aim and this question is quite advanced so I want some concrete answers or tidbits with reasons to back it up; not some teen's hotshot answer.

I clicked one of the video file from my My Videos folder. As soon as I clicked, error message appeared. I clicked and sent the message to system. Immediately it closed everything. This has happened several times. I am unable to forward these video files to Sonic DVD writer. Before I didn't face this kind of trouble. What can I do?

Can anyone clear me what’s the difference a brand like Toshiba, Dell, HP, Compaq, etc brings to a laptop? Basically, all the configurations they use are similar like Intel processor, Ram, Hard disk and all that kind of stuffs. So, what makes a particular brand to sell more or less when all the parts in that are same? I have decided to go for a HP brand which offers a reasonable price with good configurations than a Compaq which gives even better configurations at lower price?

I have an Acer 5610 and it was working just fine. But after I uploaded my music from Itunes onto my Ipod, none of my media is working. Itunes still opens and works, but when I want to play music, it just doesn't. It sits and the start of the song and does nothing. It also does this with all my movies. Whenever I play a movie, it can open the file, but it gets stuck wherever I put it (Though, if I press play/pause REALLY quickly, it slowly moves forward... But I'm not going to do that for my whole movie -.-)
Anyone know what's going on with my computer and how I can fix it? :(

I've been having problems on and off with my HD for about 6 months. My computer is a Gateway desktop from 1999, upgraded from Win98 to WinXPHome a year ago; a FAT32 drive.My SEAGATE drive is a 160GB, about 2 years old; also a FAT32. When I bought it I just made folders and dragged data onto the drive, it worked fine. Last year I switched from my Gateway to an HP desktop I borrowed, an XP Pro with a NTFS drive. My external worked fine w/it but after a while when I tried to open the drive (via My Computer) and it said that it wasn't formatted, and if I would like to format it. I called the company of the drive and they helped nothing. I continued to turn on my drive like normal and eventually the drive popped out of it, all files unharmed. This has happened over and over. I've since had to revert back to my Gateway and haven't had problems for a while, but it's now doing it again. I really need to know how to stop this or how to fix it.

I just built a computer using this motherboard (Asus M2A-VM-HDMI AMD Socket AM2 ATX Motherboard ) and after it turns on it stays at whatever screen i direct it to (if i press nothing its a screen saying press del or tab, if i press del durring boot it goes to same screen but it says loading setup, and if i press tab durring boot it tells me how much memory i have and what my processor has and tells me to press del or f8) and after that screen comes up, whatever one i direct it to durring boot, nothing else happens, no mater what button i push, any idea whats goin on??

I've recently inherited an older PowerMac G5 from a friend of mine, but it's missing it's RAM. I just so happen to have two 1GB sticks of DDR400 RAM lying around, and was curious if it would be compatible with this computer, regardless of the fact that it isn't certified to work with Apple computers? Logic says that it should be fine, but with this being my first Macintosh I don't want to go assuming things.

If it helps, the brand that I'm installing is A-DATA.

I am doing a powerpoint presentation and I need to embed audio file in it. I can do so in my own computer, however when the presentation is being copied to another computer, the audio won't play. How can I permanently attach the audio to the presentation? Thanks.

I don't want to use a pop-up window because those are usually annoying; besides it would be blocked by most users anyways.

I don't want to use a cheesy gimmick like flashing or scrolling text (although a ticker type element might be worth considering).

And I don't like flash elements that cover the page your viewing.

Does anyone have any ideas of what would be a good method of creating such an alert without being obnoxious or annoying?

FWIW, this is not a site where people log-in, but I probably have several visitors each week.
