You shouldn't have any trouble as long as your OS supports SATA drives. Even if it doesn't have an optimised driver it should still at least drop back to a generic driver that will work (even if a bit too slow for watching DVDs).

The Dell Latitude D620 has an i945 chipset in it.

What is the OS you were using, try to surf in this site

look for the brand and model name for the DVD, look for the drivers that will fit in your OS
