Word and Office do not come on the Windows XP CD. They have their own CD,
possibly labelled "OFFICE XP".

Did you wipe your disk and reinstall Windows? You will have to find an Office CD and reinstall. If you don't have one, there is always OpenOffice:

Start>My Computer>Local Disk C>Program files. Look through the folders, and if the program is on your computer, it will be there. Open the folder, find the shortcut, and create it on your desktop. Office usually has a ton of backup files, so if it will not open, reinstall it from the installer in the folder.

Sorry to inform you but Microsoft Office & Microsoft Word are not part of Windows XP or any version of Windows, has never been and will never be part of Windows and is not on the Windows XP cd.Microsoft Office is a seperate piece of software.
There is WordPad which is part of Windows XP, but is not as functional as the Word which is included as part of Office.
