I know it's connected properly, and I ran the disc that comes with it. Still I can't get it to print from the computor. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. HELP!! Please!!

so, some how some type of trojan virus disguised as a spyware sheild got down loaded on to my computer. i ran REAL spyware searching programs and it came up blank. then even after it somehow got downloaded on to my computer, it wants me to download it AGAIN.(here's the kicker) it says it detects a TROJAN VIRUS CAUSING POP-UP ADS AND COOKIES. Now i think its getting worse. i tried to go to an ordinary site when suddenly the same old pop up came up wanting me to download it.... 43 times in a row and in the back ground you could see all these spyware sheild programs pretending to run. it makes an erie noise when the thing about it dectecting a trojan virus pops up.(erawwwwwr)

also, its called IE Defender.

i try to remove it but nothing happens. SO HOW IN THE WORLD DO I GET IT OFF?!

example: say I own www.yahoo.com and I have it pointed to one ip address. then I made a subdomain like mail.yahoo.com, can I point it to a different ip address? even if its just one address higher or lower? If so, do you do this in the dns server? or what?

Today I bought a computer that will be delivered and installed next week. No security comes with it. The store offered to install anti-virus stuff and whatever else, for $300+. I said thanks, but no, thanks. It sounded quite expensive to me and I didn't have enough money after buying the computer.

So what security should I have? A firewall? Any good free ones that I can download? How about anti-spyware and anti-virus material? Anything else?

The computer has Windows Vista Home Premium installed, if that makes any difference.

i mean what if a long lost friend is trying to find you and ur not giving ur REAL info, and they wont know its you, i know its for saftey,

but a friend migh be trying to find u.

the only thing i cant for me is age

I have a Compaq Presario V2000 that originally had 256 mb...yesterday I bought 512 mb memory and added it in the empty slot...when I checked the RAM under "my computer" properties it only shows 384 mb...however the processor speed on there somehow doubled from 780 smthing to 1.58 ghz...Then I used this one site "www.crucial.com" and it scanned my computer and said I have a total of 512 mb installed...256 in each slot...so I'm not sure what exactly is going on...I thought if I installed 512 then my RAM would increase by that amount...any help/explanation/suggetions?!!

PS....the memory is DDR SODIMM PC2700

I just bought (on ebay) a mp4 multimedia player and am having a hard time learning to use it. There are basically no instructions with this other than menu and volume.
I did get some songs on it but they dont play in order and I cant seem to find a random setting on this. Also some songs I added dont show up although windows media player say they are installed on the unit.
Is there a instruction book online anywhere? I'm ready to back my truck over this stupid little thing. Thanks

Recently I recorded a talk on yoga using my MP3 player and then downloaded it into my computer.The file is .wav 15mb for a duration of one hour 32kb/second and in format imaadpcm.
When I wrote it to CD,the player is not taking it.Then I tried to convert it into MP3 and the files goes up to 55mb(128kb/s&mono).I tried various converters but no use.If I reduce the bit rate,the sound id unintelligable.
How can I convert it into MP3 and keep the file size around 15mb?I tried switch,Anyaudio converter,Blaze etc.

I'm still using dial-up because the cable companies don't come out this far. (Cable & DSL are NOT available to me.) My PC is a Dell Dimension 8250 Pentium 4 running Microsoft XP, 4 or 5 years old. Can I hook up a wireless router to my dial-up phone line? My ISP techs say yes, the local store clerks say no. Which is it?
