getting a grat discount on the price of the software you were licensing, or having the flexibility to manipulate the same data files with a different vendor's software?

hmm tricky question but i think i would have to go with the grat discount cuz if u try to manipulate data files even with diffrent soft ware you can get into alot of truble .. well my view lol

Depends on how much you need to manipulate the data with the othe software. To my mind, if you need that other software then the "great detail" software is not doing on the job. Why would you use an inadequate program regardless of what the discount is?
