what was said about you being a spoiled brat is absolutely true. but if you insist in beeing that, who are we to restrain you?

well, as for your "problem", it's not a virus you need, but you have to download a BIOS upgrade which is NOT for your motherboard an forcely overwrite your BIOS with it. that will do it for you.

the operation can be undone only in a specialised lab and will cost almost as much as a new mobo... and as people alredy told you, you might end with a dead piece of crap...

What if you remove the CMOS Battery and your parents don't buy you a new computer? You sound like a spoiled, greedy, brat who doesn't think about anybody but yourself. You should think about what your parents did to get you the computer that you have now. If you need a new one for school or collage, I can understand but if you want a new one just because, I think you can survive a few more months.

Well, if you destroy your computer, and your parents still won't buy you a new one, it will be back to the abacus for you! Don't be such a spoiled brat, there is nothing wrong with what you have, just put some more memory in it! God, there are kids in some parts of the world that are thankful for water in a ditch to drink, and cow dung to burn for heat, and you whine about your computer!

When you grow up (if?) you can do what you want. Until then, you either save up for your own new PC or live with what you have.

If you asked your parents nicely, they may agree to bump your RAM to 512MB which improves the performance of XP with Service Pack 2. It shouldn't cost more than $50 for a 10% boost.

Just open the case and remove the CMOS battery....looks like a big watch battery that shoud do it...

there are no viri that attack the bios that can be reversed.
