I lose my internet connection after about 10 minutes. If I restart, everything works great for another 10 minutes, and it's the same thing every time. I connect to a broadband modem through a LAN cable. There's nothing wrong with the cable or the modem. I tried connecting with another computer and it was fine for hours. I ran a virus scan and didn't find anything, either. I realize this is vague, but thought somebody might jsut happen to know what's going on.

1. I have a labtop windows xp and its wireless, but i cant connect to the internet. I was wondering that it is maybe turned off. My cousin, I think turned it off? How do I turn it back on?I saw my cousin go to control panel and then I got lost, where do I go after control panel?
2. My other question is that I am going out the country for vacations and i am wondering if the internet would work outside the country? The internet i have is not dial-up it is DSL. Would it work?

How and where can I get watermarks that I can edit with whatever name I want , like at Corbis or Getty images? And preferably for FREE or very cheap to buy? I saw on a web site and I liked it, they had images without any watermarks (or so they let you believe it) and when you move the arrow of the mouse over it it displays the watermark. Even something like that I would want to know where to get. Thanks.

I hear of this program named PuTTY, I research it, but all the descriptions of it are over my head. SSH? Telnet? Tunnels? I don't get ANY OF IT. Anyone, please describe it all in laymans terms. Don't direct me to sites like google or wikipedia either (been there, done that). Thanks!

At work, I use Outlook 2003. Whenever I begin Outlook, it automatically goes to send/receive and downloads any waiting email. I have never been able to do this at home. Does Outlook 2003 have this feature for non-network computers, such as mine at home? Brian

I have a varchar2(20) field that has date in it. When I TO_DATE them, I get 2098 instead of 1998. They are stored as character strings like '24-JAN-98' and '13-MAR-03'. I need to change all these records so they have a 4-digit date, by entering a '19' in front of anything before 2000 and a '20' for everything after. So I'm thinking there should be some sort of SQL (or PL/SQL) where I could use instr, replace, or some other function that a beginning Oracle developer - like me - hasn't mastered yet. I have about 250,000 records that I need to do this to.

my laptop is protected by norton antivirus until a few days ago, these pop-ups from everywhere kept on coming up. its so sudden. i have norton antivirus, google and yahoo toolbar, windows defender, and ad-adware 2007. they keep coming up. internet explorer keeps telling me that to use drivecleaner.com, winantivirus, and spywaredoctor.com

My computer is in my room, and is on a lot of the time. It gets incredibly hot, and even when I turn it off, the heat is still in my room. I have two fans (an overhead and a box fan) and two windows. How can I cool down my computer, or get it cooler, so my room isnt this hot?

When i watch some videos on my browser the video only downloads to a certain point then it pauses and starts buffering some more. Then it downloads more of the video and keeps repeating until the video is finished. I DONT THINK ITS MY INTERNET CONNECTION SINCE I RUN ON A CABLE MODEM....
