In my experience western digital and seagate have been the best names to go with when you're getting a external hdd, there are many different off brands you can go with but I would advise western digital over most. A couple things you'll want to make sure of would be that it runs at 7200rpm (not 5400) and it has at least a 8mb cache, this will help you in the long run. For great external hdd. prices I'd try www.newegg.com they seem to have a huge collection.

I only recommend 2 brands of hard drives:
Seagate and Western Digital.

Those are the best brands I have seen yet.

So, I would say you are quite safe going with the WD Passport.

Western Digital provides very high quality consumer products. Although I've seen some fail, most greatly outlast the competition.
