My computer is in my room, and is on a lot of the time. It gets incredibly hot, and even when I turn it off, the heat is still in my room. I have two fans (an overhead and a box fan) and two windows. How can I cool down my computer, or get it cooler, so my room isnt this hot?

My house as a Central Air Con Unit, but my Mom is stingy and uses it as little as possible, even less when I protest.

Open it and clean out the dust. Make sure that there isn't objects preventing airflow.

What types of hardware are you using? If it's the PC getting hot from the outside it doesn't sound like an airflow problem. Some CPUS run extemely hot, like the Intel Pentium 4 extreme edition. Also having multiple hard drives increases heat.

It really depends a lot on the climate you live in. I have central air conditioning, so I don't notice heat issues. I have a massive full tower computer case with 5 fans, so I have excellent airflow.

How hot? Download and run SpeedFan...if the CPU temperature is above 130-135 degrees F, that could be very bad for it. The only thing I can think of to cool down your room is to get an air conditioner for it (either a windows unit, or a portable unit (more expensive)).

use fans. go 2 bestbuy and ask geek squad. i have an xbox 360 and they make a "cooling fan" for it that all you do is place on the back of it and it will cool your system down.
