My uncle has been an idiot and has lost the username and password to his wireless router, and we need to find the WEP key. Other than reseting the whole router, is there a way to recover the WEP key??

recently I formated my notebook (laptop) and I lost a driver for vga, audio, network , modem.......and I downlod those drivers from dell website. so when i try to install the driver it appear one massage "This self-extracting zip file is part of a multidisk zip file. please insert the last disk of the set. " so please any one to konw how to install the drivers please let me know

This will be for a somewhat gaming laptop. I am not terribly too concerned with graphics as much as i am with how smoothe games will run. The cpu on each will be a intel core duo 2.0 ghz w/ 800fsb, and both have 2gigs of ram. All components are essentially the same except the video card. I have checked out various comparisson charts such as the one on notebookcheck.com but i do not know what to make of the different stats. I know the 8600GS performs better, but with graphics put aside, will the 8600GS really play games SMOOTHER than the 8400g to a point where I can detect? I am not a huge gamer, but would like to play some newer games, like graw 2 coming out pretty soon, or some fairly high demanding games.

I have heard of carbonite.com but i do not want any kind of software that automates anything running on my computer. Is there a way to do like a drag and drop my data to some server on the web without having to install software?

I want to backup my data on my computer so I can format and reinstall the operating system fresh. It would also be nice to have storage available somewhere other than on my computer. Maybe I'm just looking for storage based on a server? Does this exist?

if i get an i.p. blocker, do you think it would be safe to download a couple songs a day using limewire?

Hi there,
My computer decided it's time to go to computer heaven (or wherever dead computers go), so I'm in the market for a new HP laptop. My problem - I know absolutely zilch about graphics cards, except that they sort of control the quality of what you see on your screen.
In my info-finding-mission, I've come accross 2 laptops with the exact same features, but different graphics cards - one has the Radeon X1300 and the other has a Nvidia GeForce Go7400.
Now, I mostly use my computer for my work - I write children's educational material, which means word-documents, and some work with graphic programs. I do also use it for watching DVD's and some recreational gaming (AOE, Empire Earth, Caesar, etc).
Which would you recommend? Or are there any others you would rather look at?

I'm using a laptop and a cellphone to connect through the internet with GPRS. When I use USB cable, the connection is 100% stable and fast. But when I use the bluetooth to connect the cellphone to the laptop, the connection speed drops to 10-20% of its optimal speed. Besides, it's so unstable that there's no data transfer at all sometimes (a lot of times actually!).

Please advise me what's possibly wrong with the bluetooth connection.

okay i have this 160gig hard drive full of programs, songs, movies, videos, games (total of used is 80gig)....how do i copy all those to a new hard drives??? because copy and paste takes like 98978hours, im over exaggerating, it takes really long thought...is there any easy way to do it???

I recently tried to clean off my hard drive and reinstall everything. As I was putting all my backup files back on the PC it said I had no more disk space. I checked and lo and behold the disk is full. Now all that should have been on my 40 GB drive is the OS and some basic programs-all of which fit fine before. Did I not really clean the drive in the first place?

ok...i have this laptop... i want to upgrade the ram on it and curently it is 128mb... when i open the back of it up.. i see the 2 places where the ram can go... both of those places have a ram chip thing in them... so does that mean each of those chips have 64mb of ram?

I'm thinking about getting more RAM space for my computer,right now it has 512MB. if i take my PC to "Staples" or a place like that, will they be able to tell me which kind i need to buy and install it for me too?? they've told me that it will cost me around $50 to get a new RAM card thing....is that price right??
