You know, just copying to a new drive won't make it replace the original, the programs on't run, and neither will Windows.
You'll need to use an imaging software. Sometimes it will come with new drives. If so, it might take an hour or so, and everything will work perfectly.
Otherwise you'll need to buy an imaging program, check these out: http://disk-imaging-software-review.toptenreviews.com/

Your best bet, would be to leave your old drive as the master and add the new drive as the slave. To makee room, only copy the movies , songs, videos and pictures over to the new drive and after verifying they work, delete them form your old drive. This will allow you to have more room for everything you want to add, without having to waste a perfectly d\good hard drive. (Plus it'll cut down on the time needing to transfer files).

I tried using one of those disc copy/transfer programs when I got my new computer ..TOOK FOREVER! Easiest way for me was to transfer them to my portable hardd drive (you can get a 120G for under 80 bucks). This way I have a back-up copy. I have also burned what I REALLY needed on to CD/DVD. Good luck ...gn

They have tons of software for this exact thing. Check out http://www.snapfiles.com/get/hdclonefree.html Or you could do a search in google for 'free harddrive copy software'. That will return a ton of software for you.

Hi,
The best option seems to me that you connect this 160GB disk to your new system and move the data from the old disk to the new harddisks. I'll think that this is the way that data will be moving as fast as it can.

Don't drag&drop one file at a time. Drag&drop entire folders.
