I need some information. Recently I have been contemplating the idea of taking a drivers' ed class at the local DMV, since my high school couselor couldn't get me into the class at my school for second semester. Is there anything I should be aware of? I know it will cost more than it will at school, but is the class more challengening at the DMV?

I got a speeding ticket in Hawaii last Friday. It was a 25 zone on a highway where everyone goes much faster. The cops were just out there getting their quota. There were 3 other cars already stopped over. Just no luck I guess. He said it was a citation, but that I didn't have to go to court. I was going like 53 or something. Questions are: once I pay the $147 speeding ticket, how does the citation affect my car insurance? (How long? How much $ increase on average?) Is it worth it to take $450 driving school to save money off insurance in the long run? Does driving school take it off my record or just lower my insurance?

The low trac light came on while my husband was driving home. We have a 99 monte carlo ls. Could it be just b/c he was sliding a little from all the snow on the road? The tires don't replaced by any means, we just bought the car about 6 weeks ago and the tires were brand new.

Forgive my very unspecific terminology. I am car-knowledge challenged.

I hope you know what I am talking about.

BTW, if it's of any use, that stick is only in cars that are not automatic. I don't know the name of that type of car either...

You never hear much about them (at leas tthat is my perception), but in checking some of the reliability ratings (on JD Power) for some of the Buick models, they get very strong marks.

Anyone here ever own a Buick or have some knowledge about them? Are they good dependable cars?
