Most car rental companies will allow a car to be transferred one way, from city to city. But they will also charge for this convenience. Usually a drop charge of $500 or less is reasonable. This is to pay for the transport back to the origin city. What you should ask is whether or not they have a car that belongs to the city where you are travelling to. This way you are doing them a favor and you may get a good deal from them.
