I have an 05 GMC 2500HD with a 6.0L. The trailer I'm pulling weights only 8,500 lbs loaded. The truck is ment to pull 10,500 lbs. The problem I have is when I go up grades, it's very slow. The trans. kicks down to 2nd gear and the engine's rpm goes way up. I like the truck, it's just the power is not there when I need it. Also I can't see myself spending another 20 grand to purchase a diesel for a few tows a year. Would an older diesel do better than my 6.0L gas?

I keep seeing so many different displacements of engines available ranging from a 345 to 404. I want to know the GASOLINE engine that was MOST used in the above application. Thanks in advance.

I don't want to resort to the manufacturer's numbers, but there is no quick and easy way to search for the various car magazines' numbers. Is there a website that keeps track of all of these numbers?

At Hampton Court recently I was told by a police woman that even though I had a disability badge I could only park free in the bays provided. As all the bays were full I would have to pay the going rate of £3.50. I do not believe this can be correct.

I'm turning 16 this month, and I'm hopefully getting my license in March after I complete GA driving school. My dad's a CPL Truck Driver, so I had lots of experience. Anyone know of any good starter cars? I don't like big things like trucks or SUVs, so something small like an Acura, but not that expensive. The cheapest, best car you can think of for a starter please? Thanks!

Does anyone know a good website about present past and future cars, their styles and stuff? i like cars but would like to know more about them, but am at a disadvantage because no one in my home is crazy for cars so i know nothing at all( i still dont know what a farari is). i like to look at my never home uncle's books of car pics and think they look cool but i dont even know what kind of style or year they are or if they are considered cool or popular. So i would be thankful for any info.

I know that the Plymouth 426-Hemi and the Ford Boss-429 had about 425 hp. The Buick "Stage-1" 455 had about the same as well.

Any others that had 400-plus right from the factory with no modifications?

I have a two year old Hyundai Accent (2005). All in all, what you'd generally expect from a cheap car, I knew I was buying cheap and I really just wanted a point A to point B car, which I got. Anyway, here's my concern--I'm at 23000 miles and I STILL tend to get very inconsistent gas mileage. Before anyone jumps in, this is NOT about city/highway variations. Nor is it about the gas grade; it will be the identical gas each tank, at the appropriate grade. I can drive almost identical patterns daily, with almost the same level of starting and stopping, and still get variations per tank anywhere from 22 mpg up to over 30. I did have it checked at the dealer about a year ago; they insisted they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I'd hoped it would level out as the engine worked in, but now, two years in, I just barely made 230 miles on my last tank when the tank previously was still more than a third full at 230 miles. This is irritating! Any ideas?
