I noticed my rear sprocket is missing a few teeth (just got the bike so it wasn't me) and needs to be replaced. I want to put an acceleration kit on instead of stock sprockets. I don't know anything about gearing or how much better aluminum would be but if you would take a look at the link and tell me what the difference between them is and which one you would get I would surely appreicate it.

Any information you have about the number of sprocket teeth and gearing would be helpful too.

thank you!

hey!
I bought new motocycle in may'07 and got in accident same day i got it. mainly my fault i did not know how to ride it and my friend said that its ok dont worry its easy, i got on it and rest is history. I wanna find out is it easy to fix bike yourself. I dunno much about them, but i kow there is no damage to the engine, i broke, rim, rotors, shocks, one side body kit,and the part that holds the odometer and basically the whole handle part to the front of the bike, so i was thinking why pay someone a whole lot of money to fix it if i can buy stuff and just put it together my self. I saw stuff on ebay, iknow a guy at my work who said that he has fixed his bike lots of time . I just want to know how hard is it to take the parts off and fix them since it has nothing to do with the transmission. any feedback would be appreciated. thanks.

Harley is obviously the best company on the planet, making the best bikes the world has ever seen. How is it that the stock has dropped 36% from its 52 week high? I mean seriously, that's a significant hit. Did something happen that I don't know about? Are the quality of the new bikes so bad that people are avoiding them? I mean, everyone on the planet wants a Harley, why are they doing so bad? Will they ever recover?

my wifes minvan needs gassed up so she can go to work in the morning.... while I was browsing the Martial Arts section of Y/A I was subconsciously thinking about going to gas up her minivan and the question came in my mind " I wonder if I can ride my motorcycle to go do it" .......after realizing my chain of thought I have come to the colclusion that I can not carry the minivan on the bike .... is this becoming more than a form of enjoyment?????

I have a 2006 Artic Cat 500 LE 4x4 automatic and a winch.
This Cat makes me mad! I have already replaced the battery in it once. Was fine for like two weeks and now the bugger won't start. So I charged the battery all day and guess what happened?......... it started :) So I played around for awhile. I decided to keep the battery disconnected when not in use. Its been disconnected for a week. I connected it today and it starts right up. Excellent! So what do you think is pulling charge from the battery when its not in use? Its a pain to continue to disconnect and reconnect just to be sure it will start. I'm not getting another battery cause its obvious its not the problem. I also have a 2001 Honda Recon. That baby starts up everytime. Same battery, same original parts and that four wheeler gets run into the ground. Its Ole reliable! If it wasn't for my family being a Artic Cat dealer, I would have never bought the darn thing and would have gotten another honda.

Assuming the motorcycle is in working condition, will the engine still run after I started it and then disconnect one of the battery cables?

My thinking is that once it is up and running (optimal RPM) the alternator should take over and provides electricity to where is needed and also charging the battery. Why removing the battery connector causing it to stop?

I deal with alot of Honda motorcycles and ATV--and even some of the associate that have been here longer (say 20 years) don't even know the meaning of "VTX" or "VT"750 "DCA" (VT750DCA) Shadow Spirit. Is there a website I can get the meanings of these acronyms dealing with all types of Honda Motorcycles and ATV's? I tried Honda themselves but have yet to gain a response..

also, what type of bike do you have?

one person told me that if taken care of VERY well, a "crotch rocket", such as a Yamaha R6, Suzuki GSX-R, Ninja, CBR, etc, will last 100,000 miles.

another person told me that they fall apart after 25,000 miles.

which of these is more accurate?
i've been looking at buying a pre-owned 600cc bike with 10K - 15K miles on it, and i don't want it to "fall apart" in a year or two.

I always select the best answer, Thanks.

I want to get a new one. Probably just a cruiser. Something for to and from work, especially with these gas prices and all. Tell me what I need to look for when buying a bike. What dealers should I stay away from. What are good prices. I thinking Honda. I know Suzuki has bikes too, any place else?
