Vulcans are great bikes. I have an 96 Vulcan 800.

Here's the thing with the 750s: My husband had one and sold it to get the 800. He complained that it was top heavy and it just looks way too much like a sport tourer.

I know the guy that owns the bike now, it still looks wierd and looks way too top heavy.

If you want a good bike that is easy to do maintenance on just go with a Vulcan 800. The 800 looks more like a traditional cruiser. In fact my 800 was mistaken for a Softtail twice on our last cross country trip. It is a chain driven bike but I have the bobtail and the chain really isn't too messy. If you want a good shaft driven bike try a Star. (We have a V-Star 1100 and that is a great bike too.)

Kawasaki makes great cruisers but in my opinion the 800 is way better. To each his own, but I figured I'd tell you our experiences with the 750.

I will have to say that you should look into an 800 A. the 750 in my opinion is an awkward to look at and ride. Kawasaki did a great job refining the Vulcan from the 750 to the 800. the 800 highly reliable bike. although the shaft driven 750 is a bit smoother on the acceleration the chain drive 800 isn't far behind on the smooth ride quality. after market support for the 800 is alot more plentiful than the 750 as well. these are just a few things to consider.

Every year Vulcan 750 is equal in performance and dependability.
They haven't changed much since their conception, until the 800s came out.
