when I touch solenoid with screwdriver I hear starter turning with whirring sometimes ginding noise, took starter off works fine. dont know now. please help

It is leaking towards the front of the bike by a large hose coming out of the radiator; but I can see where it is coming from exactly.

It will not allow fuel to go into the carbs. How do I release the vapor lock? Do I need to take it out of the bike?

It's a 750 cc 1982 Honda Magna. I want to know how much oil goes into the engine and the transmission, also what kind of oil. Now for my second question: The second gear on my motorcycle always locks up, I mean whenever i switch to second gear, add a little gas it locks up and i have to switch to either first or third gear! So does anyone know how to fix this problem??

say you have 1993 doesn't harley recommend going to shop for work to done? i think they have turned there back on owners! some of Shops around town refuse to work on bikes older than 10 years this doesn't sound right? Harley wheres the loyality!! lets find out/ if they are forgetting there customers!! or what? You pay $10,000.00 to $20,000.00 for a thing and they drop you like a hot potato!??

hi. i bought my kawasaki vn800 classic from a motor cycle dealer locally and am asking do i have to have it serviced at the place where i bought it from or can i go else where? its a 57 plate and due for its first service soon? but only got the warranty book in their name and nothing else? so what do i do? thanks to all who reply.

It wouldnt start.. Theres plenty of fuel, its reaching the carb. etc. But it doesnt seem to even make a noise, its just silent, theres oil, spark at plug everything.

BUT, battery very flat!! Would this make any difference at all, because the bike is generated by a magneto/flywheel generator.. Does it even need a battery just to start (no lights etc.) Or is it required to run the engine.

Any other suggestions much appreciated!! Thank you.

I bought a yamaha mint 50cc scooter its a surplus from Japan.My question is where can I locate the engine number on this thing.Ive looked all over but I never realy found it.Can anybody please help me?Please explain in detail coz I am not a technical man regarding motor engines.

hi to u all ,i seem to b getting a prob finding a conplet loom for my kawasaki gt550 so is there any way i can chang all the wireing with a nuther bike say like a kawi,z500 ,and will i get prob with wire colour codes ??,thank you for your time ,ps may be if i take all the bits out and get them tested coils black box etc ,,

Should I but the buell big bore kit on my 883 and do some custom work on the sporty, like chroming frame, and other show bike stuff or should I just wait till spring and upgrade to a Dyna? I commute a lot and 70% is highway travel. I get a lot of wind gust in the open midwest highways. Besides wanting more ponies, I want to know if the heavier bike will highway travel better. A veterans opinion would be appreciated...

I just got my bike out of the shop and I took a ride this eve. before wind chill it is in the 50s, riding down the highway with wind chill it was easy 20-30s. The leathers took the edge off but after an hour I decided to call it a night...

Well, problem is, as you can see from the pics below, i have got an oil leak coming from somewhere around the flywheel generator area.. I cannot seem to find the cause of the leak and now it is doing my head in =] ..

Any ideas.. [see pics..]

What is the legal situation for parking a motorcycle in an open car park bay when there is no allocated motorcycle bay. (not a multi storey) If I park my bike in a car bay do I have to pay As there is no secure place on a motorcycle to put a ticket it could blow away, get wet, get stolen etc. so if I do pay and something happens to the ticket it could prove difficult to prove that I had purchased a ticket. Do different Parking companies or Councils that run these car parks have different policies when it comes to bikes using their car parks? If I were to be give a parking fine for not displaying a ticket or indeed for not paying has there been a legal precedent where I could challange the fine and win my case? There have been many occassions when I have had to park in a bay and not paid and fortunately I haven't been given a ticket probably because there hasn't been any attendents in the area rather than being allowed to park there if I have been observed.
