I have an '06 Scrambler that was love at first sight. It's not the fastest or best handling bike for the money, but it has style for miles, is well built and is an awesome bike. I feel a deep passion for that bike.
If you're looking for a classic / standard that is simple, elegant and unique this should make you very happy. If you're looking for a modern experience your money woud be better spent on something like a Triumph Street Triple, but expect a few more speeding tickets.
I like my Scrambler because it is fun to cruise, I don't need to speed heavily or ride on the back wheel to have fun. It's a blast at any speed. I bought it because I personally love everything about the bike, but a nice bonus is how much attention it gets. Not a day has gone by where it hasn't gotten praise. Triumphs mean alot to alot of people.
If you pick one up remove the Air Injection immediatly and add an aftermarket exhaust like the ThunderBikes ( loud ), or TORS ( mellow ). Then it will uncork the classic parallel twin Brit sound.
Have fun and let me know if you have any questions, always happy to talk about the Scrambler.

I own a standard style 02 Bonneville and find it to be a thoroughly modern great all around bike. Not the fastest, but, it will handle all types of riding comfortably. I highly recommend the Triumph Bonneville, and the scrambler version of it looks great.

Rumor has it that the Bonneville line will be fuel injected for 2008 to meet emissions standards. It may be worth holding out for an '08 if that helps gas mileage, power & driveability. If it ends up just costing more, look for a good deal on an '07.

I have owned my Sprint RS for over 5years and 27K miles without a problem except not enough time to ride!
I really like many models of Triumph's line and wish I had enough money for about 7 of 'em (ya know one for each day of the week :D)
Go for it!!!

Forty years of progress has made vastly better bikes, and the originals weren't bad for the day.
If you like them, go for it.
