It wouldnt start.. Theres plenty of fuel, its reaching the carb. etc. But it doesnt seem to even make a noise, its just silent, theres oil, spark at plug everything.
BUT, battery very flat!! Would this make any difference at all, because the bike is generated by a magneto/flywheel generator.. Does it even need a battery just to start (no lights etc.) Or is it required to run the engine.
Any other suggestions much appreciated!! Thank you.

The battery is required to turn over the engine when you push the start button. Go to your local auto parts store and buy a battery charge and hook it up to the battery on the lowest setting possible, I put mine on the 2 volt position. If you let your bike sit for sometime you should put the charger on the battery for 2-3 hours every now and then to keep the battery up and fresh for when you need to ride your bike
It seems to me that you have a bare bones bike that has no lights, but since you have a battery, or atleast talk about one it leads me to believe that the battery is just for starting the bike.

How can you tell there is a spark at the plug if the battery is flat? Do the ignition lights show when you turn the key, if not the battery might not be the culprit, they will rarely lose all their charge, and because there is no noise I would look at the fuses.

You do not state the make and model of the bike so it is hard to give an opinion but first I would charge the battery and have another go
If no better then post the make and model in your question and we might be able to help a bit more
Sorry if this is of no real help but we really do need a bit more info
Good luck

if your battery is remotely dull, this can cause non starting. Suzukis are prone to this as they have to use battery power for the carb heaters. Bring back kick starts.
Try charging the battery on a trickle charge over night if that no work, get a new battery.

Do you have a alarm on your bike? if so this will drain your battery , you need to buy a OPTIMATE 3 , battery optimiser, this will keep your battery charged up full all the time. It also has a diagnostic. all you do is put the charger on over winter and it will look after your battery over this period that you arnt using your machine. Hope this helps you had bikes for years glad i could help you.

I'm assuming you are kick starting it.
Replace the plug. Always carry a new spare.
