I have a un-baffled pipe on it at the moment (no noise laws where im at country folk!) and I put a 107.5 jet in it the stock was 105 it has more power, yet I still would like to rip off the line I think its bottom end? And one more question is bottom end torque in the first few gears? Or is it top end?

I have a 1981 xv750
I must go very easy in first gear or else the bike starts jerking and grinding(sounds like rocks in a coffee can). Once I go into second gear i can give it full power and the bike goes. no other problems with the other gears. clutch is not slipping and is adjusted properly. On occasion when the bike starts jerking the gear shift jams and i cannot get second gear unless i pop the clucth a few times and then i can get second. If I feather the clutch when I an starting out I can get up to about 10mph before the jerking starts.

2000 Road King Classic

Leg room too short, floor boards and pegs cramp my legs

The saddle is very uncomfortable. Have HD standardad with bike.

Suggestions from any tall, long legged guy who has re-equipped their bik to be more comfortable; legs and back.

If I can't sell my bike and get something a little longer wheel to wheel perhaps I can equip it better

I'm new to bikes and I don't know. The chain to my '96 yamaha yzf600r looks pretty ugly but I don't know what signs exactly one should look for with these things. Maybe it's ugly but still good I don't know, any help would be greatly appreciated.

A car can not even be sold unless it has gone through incredibly expensive federal crash testing, third party crash testing, and its own corporate crash testing. It must be equipped with airbags, seatbelts, and specific and expensive designs in the sheet metal and frame.
A motor cycle does not even cover the body of the occupant, it would fail any crash test (obviously) and has no seatbelts, airbags, sheet metal.
Not to mention they are noisy and sound like a flatulating farm animal, much like the riders of them. But that's besides the point.
Why are they allowed on the road?

I saw a side car the other day packed up with someones goodies. I am just amazed that there is not a sidecar marketed with this purpose. Unlike a trike's trunk, this "trunk" would be "removable". There are some interesting finds on the internet: I found one guy that used his to hold more gas and also found one that was just a flat bed for hauling.

Hello my name is Keith i am new to yahoo's "answers" and i have a question, currently i weight 317 and i am looking into driving motorcycles. I have always been attracted to them. What do you think would be a great starter bike that could accommodate my weight, and still be a good ride.

P.s. i do not like Harleys!

Let's get it out on the table.
Let's not repeat eachother.
Let's touch on every aspect that makes a bike so great.

Good luck to the winning argument!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

okay, remember my question about ticking at idle a while back? well that went away after around a day. now it is back. i went on the interstate yesterday and i think that is why. i have a ninja 250 and the first time was at 12000 RPM. i went to the dealer and they said i just need a valve adjustment (scheduled for 6000 miles; around 4800 miles now0 i was told by a seperate source 12000 RPM is harmful to my engine (i honestly had no clue - first bike and RL isn't till 13000). so yesterday i only got it up to 10000. but still ticking. now i am sad. is there permanant damage. tonight the ticking was still audible, but wasn't as present untill around 7-8000 and was as a high pitched "buzz" more really. someone - PLEASE help me. cause i am scared for my baby. say what you will about it being a girls bike, but it is a hell of a bike.

I am looking to buy a motorcycle in the near future, I dont consider myself an expert rider, but I have rode smaller bikes and they leave me wanting more performance. I am 6'6 225lbs, and don't want to ride with my knees touching my chin. I really like both of these bikes, more so the blackbird but the cheaper price of a ZX-11 evens it out. I would like some pros and cons of both bikes if possible. Thanks.
