My friend has a 1977 Honda CB550 with a dead battery and instead of getting a new battery we were going to try jumping it. I have a GMC Sierra 1500. Would this work or will we blow up the motorcycle?

Why do people say to wait 100 miles before pushing tires hard but when people put on brand new tires at the track they are good to go after a few laps?

the screw that holds the axel down and tight for my rollerblade wheel is stripped. the regular tool to get it out is a 5/32 hex, but now that it is stripped, i cannot get any grip with it (obviously). The next step is way too big. I dont really have many tools around the house. I dont want to damage the chassis or the wheel. I dont mind damaging the bearing because they are going to be replaced anyways. What can i do? Vise grips wont work since the screw is inbedded into the chassis.

My friend bought one recently dumped it short after (reason varies depends on who you talk to.. haha)....
Question... The bike has two headlights (not just one centered), but one is out. He insists that it's supposed to be like that (and that it only comes on when he puts on his brights) but I think it has something to do with the accident...

Does the yamaha R6S only run one headlight when the bike is on or is he clueless?? If you know, do you know if there is somewhere online I can show him?

i crashed my '06 yamaha yz125 pretty hard. the front tire and fender do not line up straight and the left (brake calliper) side front fork tube bent a little. can anyone tell me the level of difficulty to replace the inner fork tube myself or if i should stay away from it and let the professional deal with it. i am an ase certified diesel mechanic so i am mechanicaly inclined just not real sharp on bike suspensions. thanks so much.

I got my bike the first day of this year. I have put over 10,000 miles on it since I have had it. About the only thing I don't like about this bike is that the handle bars vibrate at about 4,000 rpm. after about an hour of running my hand gets numb. I know your suppose to stop and take a break, but not much longer after I start ridding again my hand goes numb again. Does anyone have some Ideas that might work. I have heard about one that is on the bar end that you twist with your hand forward to engage it. and all you have to do is touch the throttle and it will let off. Anyone know where I can get one?

i'm planning 2 buy a harley davidson 1 day (a heritage softail classic), but i've heard that not all motorcycles can be ridden by women, that the seat or size or whatever isn’t made 4 a woman's body.

is that true?

keep in mind, i'm 5'3". thnx.

I have a 1987 honda cr250, and my coolent is leaking down into the casing, and mixing with the oil. Do you know what could be causing this? Or where it is coming from. Also if you know anywhere that has a free diagaram of the cooling system.

THANKS!!!

Asked in motorcycles because that's where I found it.
I've seen "It's a UK question" or a "US question", and I think I saw an "Aussie question" once. How do you guys tell? I can't see anything. FWIW, I think my network is running through a German server. When I log on, the language is English. It could be just how I set it, I don't remember. It was over a year ago. Old age, I guess.

Have heard of a high-powered two stroke bike (not sure if its Yamaha), which had poor drum brakes, and didn't compressioned at all during down-shifting (being two stroke).

What do you think of car questions being asked on the mororcycles forum?
For many of us car drivers are the bain of our lives. They don't see us till they've hit us, they push is off the road, they swear and shout at us and they now ask questions on this forum. Let all real bikers vote them off our pages! What do you think???

Or does it need to be replaced? My chain has two master links from what I can tell (they are the only two that are riveted) and both links are kinked. The 0-ring is also coming out of one of the links.
