Asked in motorcycles because that's where I found it.
I've seen "It's a UK question" or a "US question", and I think I saw an "Aussie question" once. How do you guys tell? I can't see anything. FWIW, I think my network is running through a German server. When I log on, the language is English. It could be just how I set it, I don't remember. It was over a year ago. Old age, I guess.

I know what you mean, T Bird. I pick up on thse clues rather easily. I myself prefer grey over gray, even though that's not correct in the US. Some of these guys seem so definite even when I don't see those clues. That's what got me curious.

I generally look for the expressions they use, or how they spell words, or other references. You know - tyres vs. tires, road vs. tarmac, color vs. colour, favorite vs. favourite, bike names and types that are only available in places like India, etc.

Otherwise, it is just a guess.

It would be nice if a question IS country/state/province-specific if folks would just say so....

Hey firecracker,

It's a puzzle isn't it? You can choose to answer "all English language " questions (here in the UK at least) or "American questions only" any time you click on ANSWER.

I normally assume the question comes from the USA - unless the clues seem to point elsewhere - as the majority of users appear to be from the US, I think that's why others often say where they're from as Yahoo seems predominantly American.

As a clue to Fork tail - the M5 is motorway No. 5 - We name our roads (sometimes in both words and numbers) so we can easily explain where we're going, and it makes the maps more interesting to read! I know you have the same Stateside so I don't understand your confusion, has your momma not let you out the drive yet?

Sarcasm - don't you just love it?

Yes! More or much less! My father as soon as advised me that I was once 'color blind' from start, on account that I was once under no circumstances fearful of 'black persons.' Some persons do not ought to wait to visit heaven to get their gift. In a rural field of the UK, we had an annual bazaar for the SPG (Society for the Propagation of the Gospel). A younger lady from the field was once selected to gift a bouquet to the individual who opened the bazaar . My father needed to prefer the woman and of path, he could not choose his possess daughter. Once a black Bishop from what was once then Rhodesia got here to open the bazaar. My father was once involved that a few of the regional ladies might freak out whilst faced with a black guy, so he selected me. They purchased me a beautiful get dressed for the social gathering. Children/teenagers do not concentrate to their dad and mom. After an extended and more and more acrimonious marriage, I advised my mom I was once getting a divorce. My feeble excuse was once 'I made a mistake.' Her answer was once, 'I advised you that 28 years in the past, however you did not concentrate.' She did and she or he was once proper!

I suspect that the origin is set in one of two places. Either you specified your location in your profile, or the server runs a look up on your ip address, and see where the company that owns it (your ISP) is located.
