the first clones hit the USA streets several years back... the chinese took the XR70 / CRF70, disassembled it, copied all the mechanical design, used very inferier materials (down to the castings & hardware, like nuts, bolts, etc.) ... almost exact visual duplicates ... these were the rav worldwide at a fraction of the cost of the Hondas... they even professed, if something breaks, go to a honda dealer to get parts... within a very short time line, many other similar "clones" started appearing everywhere (easy to do with $.10/hour labor sweat shops and all the molds existing, eh?) ... by this point in time, the earlier ones started having issues, couldn't get parts, consumers were not happy and cost extremes to fix the problems...

save yourself some time, money and headaches ... find a used top 4 Jap bike that you can get parts for and reputable mechanics will work on...

I owned a Lifan 250cc for 8 months now. NOT one problem, lots parts supplyers on line once you look. The LF 250cc is a Virago 250cc clone. ALL parts on a LF250cc can be replaced by Yamaha parts. Other motors are Honda clones, use Honda parts. Honda was junk in the early 70's when firts brought here. Most you could find were 50 to 90 cc, look where they are now. Lifan is suppose to introduce cars here in 2008. Lifan is building a strong network of parts an dealers slowly. I own the Virago 250cc also, both are fine bikes. The Lifan carb is made in Japan just like the Virago. Lifan is one of the top 3 motorcycle co. in China. LF 250cc will average 70 to 85 M.P.G. an excede 80 M.P.H. Virago Jim

chinese like to make copies of everything, it is probably made under licence from honda as the major manufacturers sell off their old plants after they are done with it, the engine must be the same as honda but the chassis parts are made of chinese material so the motto of the story is you get what you pay for. I once paid almost 10,000 pounds for my Fireblade back in 96. You can not get the same quality from our chinese friends. Good luck with it.

My Dad is big into the China bikes - We have a Rocketa enduro. They are definitely not the same quality as a Honda - they have taken the Honda molds and used them to make their parts. They are not terrible though - my dad put a ton of work in to his Rocketa, basically rebuilding the whole thing, and now it is running pretty good - It is his commuter bike.

It isn't a Honda. It's a Chinese knock-off of a Honda. There's a difference.

most (if not all) of the chinese knock-offs were basically designs stolen from other major manufacturers. they basically clone the bikes using far less quality materials, lower quality control (if any), produce a gazillion and then sell for pennies on the dollar... and you get what you pay for.

likewise, most (if not all) when they do break, you are up a creek trying to find parts ...

I wouldn't waste my money of them.

you purchased a piece of junk that no one will respect.

When it does brake where do you plan to get it fixed and where are the parts going to be purchased?
