the 2000 yamaha YZF600R:
this bike has had awesome reviews.
to start with, like every bike, it has it's pros and cons.
Cons:
*clunky transmission, ugly black exhaust ( personal opinion)
* the shift from first to second is a bit clunky
* a little heavy
Pros:
* quality and craftsmanship is a Strong hit to this product
* very comfortable bike in handling and control with fantastic flexibility.
* it has a slick, stylish, body style with a feel of power to it.
* some would argue about it's safety for a novice- on one end they say it's the best thing a first time rider could buy and the other side say it MIGHT be too powerful to handle. but with it's smooth, comfortable and reliability reviews this is surely the bike for a vast group of sport bike lovers. riders will not be disappointed whether u r a novice or an experienced rider. it is an all around bike hands down!

I am going to cheat a little and go with the Triumph 675 Daytona. The Daytona is a hair faster than the 600cc inline fours, and it has all the handling you could ever ask for. If you aren't a serious racer (the 675 triple is not legal in the 600cc class) then the Triumph is the best choice. The Triumph makes a better road bike than any 600 and is at least as fast as any 600 on the track.

I would reccomend the Suzuki 600cc Sports model as being a very user friendly machine which will hold it's value for when trade in time comes around........I'm 67yrs & am on my 57th motor-cycle which happens to be the 500cc Suzuki GS5oo which will do more than twice the speed limit (which I don't,that's why I'm still alive & thriving). I like the machine to be heavy enough not to blow around on a windy day, but must also be super reliable in it's design, & also economical. My next bike will also be a Suzuki !.

CB600 Hornet hands down, no other sport bike is seksier!
Well except for the CB900 and about a dozen other larger than 600cc sport bikes, but that was not your question now.
*/End of Line.

Best 600cc sports bike? Definitely the Yamaha R6. Why? - becauase no one has voted for it yet. Seriously though, I think the R6 has it a bit performance-wise over the CB600; but the Honda has the edge on build quality and market penetration.

I'm so glad someone finally decided to settle this debate once and for all. I'll be very happy to never hear the merits of one Japanese IL4 600 vs. another debated ever again. Thank god it will be decided here today on Yahoo Answers by several people who don't know *@#!

That's like trying to determine the best Supreme Deity. Is it God, Buddha, Ganesh, Gaia, or Satan? We all know how well THAT argument has gone for the past two millenia!
The best 600cc sportbike? My 2006 Kawasaki ZZR600. Why? Because it's MINE, and it means that I get to ride every day. So there!

The best one is the one you're riding, atm. Unless it happens to be a Katana.
