is height dose matter if u want to learn scooty, i m just 5"1

I have 2 years of experience on a little 125cc scooter, but I haven't ridden in 2 years and I'm buying a 600cc Honda Shadow ('89). I debated for a long time about starting with a smaller bike, but I finally decided this will be okay to learn on.

It is *beautiful*--and I really do not want to drop it--not even once. I hear everyone drops a bike in their first year. But I would really really like to avoid this. What can I do? How did you drop your bike? What were the circumstances? What could you have done differently, and perhaps most importantly--what was beyond your control?

What the heck is a HELMENT?
Last time I looked, it was still a helmet. (brain bucket, whatever)
I notice most of this stupidity comes from those that would have me wear one. And they dare speak of "Darwinism"?

I took the saftey course, got my license, now I rented a Harley, and Im going out there! Im nervous about it, is that normal? I also have like a 35 mile ride on an interstate to get home from the dealer where I am renting the bike!! So ill have to go 65 mph right off the get! Im going to ride all day, hopefully!! What are your thoughts? Im nervous about the on/off ramps, traffic, speed..etc. I will be riding with some friends and family that are exp. riders so they can help.

The bike sputters and lacks power when running wide open. I'm running out of ideas on what's going on. The small idle jet and bigger main jet (size 62) are clean and stock, the whole inside of the carb is clean. The filter in the tank (petcock) looks clean and OK. The gas is new and flows OK. The spark plug is black and sooty (running rich?). The air cleaner is fine. I can't find a screw to adjust the air/fuel mix. There is an idle screw, and a drain at the bottom of the float bowl. That's it, 2 screws.

This needs to have come from an engine with fairly low mileage as my engine has only covered 5,000 miles and I don't want to put a high mileage head on my engine

Ok i have just spilled my 94 Honda 600 F2 because of some driver thinking it would be a great idea to cut infront of me at a stop light. I am sure this has happened to almost every rider, unfortinaly there was an oil slick and my front wheel when out from under. When they saw me spill they ran, so i have no insurance to put this on.

I have pretty much scraped up my entire left side of the bike and its plastics. I was wondering were is a good place to go eighter online, or retail store to pick up replacements at a good price, as well if i have to paint these pieces and such what would be the best way of doing it. Any help in repair would be welcome. Also if there is anposibility of someone who knows of anyone else with these parts it would be greatly accepted,

there seems to be no fuel reaching spark plug, could it be the reeds or power valve causing the issue

my 21 yr old son is looking to buy a used motorcycle so i'm trying to help. i contacted this person who has an add running in our local area with a bike for sale. he said to make this deal 100% safe, the money goes to a third party, he'll ship the bike, have 2 days to test drive and decide if he wants to buy it. if so, the money goes from 3rd party to him, the bike stays with us. if we dont want it, he'll pay to have it shipped back.
the catch is it's a very nice street bike with very low mileage for only $2,700.00. can this be too good to be true? is it possible for him to get loads of $ from people and sell nothing? how would the 3rd party thing work?

I'm looking into selling my cr250 for a street bike something along the lines of a 1998-2001 cbr/gsxr 600. My only problem as I'm sure you can all relate is insurance. I simply cannot afford to be paying 3-4000 dollars upfront. So does anyone know of a insurance company that will do business on a month to month bases insted of anually.

I went to a motorcycle / offroad / speed boat dealership. I was looking at the dirt bike. I am 5'10 or 5'11 weighing in at 150-160 pounds (might lose weight during football season).

Now I want a dirt bike to ride around a forrest preserve next to my house and just to ride around, not racing or to do jumps / tricks with.

The sales man recommended the CRF150F to me and said for my body it will fit me like a glove. I sat on it, felt pretty good. Do you guys recommend that bike for me? The dealer said they are reliable and it would cost me about $4,000 with tax. Now as a first bike should I buy it new, or used. Should I asked for used bikes and would other stores sell used or purely new.

The dealer was selling the bike to me for little over 4k with tax. I looked on the honda site this is a honda bike btw, the bike on the site was $3,149, what's up with that??

Plus my dad is making me getting it next year when it warms up (live in IL) and I'm wondering should I buy the '08 model or '07

I have a 1988 CBR 1000 that is overheating. I want to check the coolant level but can't find the radiator cap or overflow reservoir.

This stuff is easy on a car - it's all in plain view. I'm sure I can find it if I take off all the panels and start digging around but I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me precisely where to look.

Thanks!
