What the heck is a HELMENT?
Last time I looked, it was still a helmet. (brain bucket, whatever)
I notice most of this stupidity comes from those that would have me wear one. And they dare speak of "Darwinism"?

No ids - I pay my premiums. And the idea is I'd rather be dead than a vegetable. Would you be the one in shorts, sneakers and helmet?

I hope your medical insurer knows of your stupidity in regards helmets - and sets premiums accordingly - keeping vegetables alive for years is bloody expensive!

I'd NEVER ride without a good, fitting, helmet - but I value my head -and I've seen the dings in a helmet after a minor "off".

In Response:
Glad to hear you're covered!

No, I would NOT be the one in shorts, sneakers & helmet. I'd be the one never riding without boots and gloves, and requiring a passenger to do likewise.
Round town I'll just wear jeans & jacket, but if I'm heading further the gear's better. And yes, I have ridden $1000 worth of bike in $2000 of gear....

Yes - I'm one who suggests you wear a helmet but, not one who thinks you should be compelled to - it ought to be your own choice (and it is - you can always move). It should also be other people's choice not to subsidise the possible costs of your choice.

Its a risk-management scenario. When t comes down to it - it depends on how much risk, and the total package:
Where how and what you ride.

Me, I like corners & a bike that handles. I like helmets too.

BTW - the "not using spell checkers" could be a response to annoying ones - that don't know there's supposed to be a "u" in "colour" and no "z" in subsidise.

Some people just don't know how to use their spell checker, or they forgot where the button is.

Personally I'd keep wearing my full faced helmet because I value the life I have at this present time (that and I want my children to learn the right way of doing things as they learn mostly by watching what my hubby and I do.

But hey each to their own.

When asked by a friend who isn't a biker are helmets uncomfortable I say mine isn't. Then comes the question" would I wear one if the law did not dictate to do so"? I don't hesitate to say NO WAY. Maybe the N came from folks that just caint do ne better.

they're 'point whores' man. otherwise, they'd proofread things first. remember, those that obviously dont ride stand out like a grease spot in an intersection.
