I like that little Suzuki S40. Do the belts ever break?

I've owned 5 harleys that all had a belt driven secodary. I like them, never broke a belt, smoother ride under acceleration and very quiet. Belts do wear out, and can break if they catch on something. Just inspect it for cracks or wear and replace when needed.

I've owned multiple belt driven and chain driven motorcycles. The belt drive is clearly superior. Check for wear, replace when needed.

The belt very rarely break but they do crack and need replaced just like a belt in a car. as long as you inspect it every month or so it should be fine

Sure they can break, but, like any other part on any type of vehicle, preventative maintenance is the key. They are also cleaner, since they don't take chain oil nor do they rust like regular chains.

I love the belt drives, but the shaft drive is the ticket. If only my Harley had a shaft drive like the BMW bikes do...
