The six speed Cruise Drive transmission is a dream.
Smooth shifts, no "clunk" into first, and a slight overdrive in sixth. It's not new anymore in 2007. It was new to the Dynas in '06.

The Harley-Davidson 6-speed shifts well and the gear ratios are well matched to the motor's power curve. So far these transmissions are very reliable. They chose to use a combination if straight and helical cut gears which creates a different sound most noticeable between 5th and 6th (5th is louder). This is annoying to some people but is not a reliability issue. Although it's fun to make jokes about Harley-Davidsons leaking it's not a common occurrence.
