Yes. It has a 4 speed transmission.
It's an automatic, so shifting is not an issue for a beginner rider.
Start the engine - press the shift lever - give it gas and go.
When you get up to a good speed - let off the gas - press the shift lever - give it gas and go.
What ever gear you're in - let off the gas - slow down to a stop - and the engine will continue to run.
Shift back to first gear and start again.
Simple.
