I have a ford expedition. last night i drove through a big puddle. I thought it would be better to drive fast through it. when i stopped the car it sounded kinda weird so i let it run for a fun mins and it seemed okay so i went inside. now today when i drove it, the motor jitters and doesn't run smooth. is it ruined?! can i still drive it until tomorrow?

I have a 1990 Camaro RS. The motor has been changed to a 350. The car has a 5 speed manual transmission. I have a 373 posi-trac rearend that I would like to put under it. Will this rearend work under this car, and, would changing this, mess up computer, speedometer, or anything else? Also, what needs to be done to do this swap-over?

Thanks!!

Ok, last night I put some refridgerant in my A/C in my 91 Explorer. Its a 134a system and I filled it up to about 45 psi, this is what is considered "full". Now heres whats odd. When the AC is on, and the pressure is at 45, the compressor kicks on, but as soon as it does, the pressure drops to about 25 and it kicks off. After it kicks off again, the pressure rised back up to 45 again.

I know that AC repair is only to be performed by a tech, and I do NOT intend on doing reapirs myself, but I am going through school for Automotive Service, and I will be taking an AC class, so I am curious what would cause this to happen. I would like to know, and when it does come time to repair, I will either take it in and have it done in class, or take it to the shop and have it repaired. Again, I am NOT attempting to repair this in my garage, I am just curious as to what could cause this, I would like to have an idea before I take it to school or a mechanic.

Thank you

I have a 03 Pontiac Grand Am 2.2 SE. My fuel pump went out and I replaced the pump and filter. A day later the check engine light came on. I had it checked with a Snapon Scanner and it read low fuel mixture on bank 1 for 23 seconds. The guy cleared it and the light went off. 2 days later (this morning) it came back on again. What could be the possible problem? How do I fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Is engine capacity measured with the engine in a 'normal' position, ie with the pistons in different positions in the cylinders, or is it measured as though all the pistons were at the bottom?

Car type: 99 Accord 4 cylinder
My car has shut off three seperate times while I have been driving it.
The problem only takes place in the afternoon after the car has been in the sun. It only happens if I turn my AC to 3. It does not happen when the weather is cool or moderate.
I hope it's just a belt.

The other day I was driving and I went to turn my AC on and my car crapped out. I have no idea what is wrong but I had a friend look at it and we know its not firing. We checked the timing belt, distrubutor and other basics and everything looked okay. Any ideas?

Okay. When my car hits 1 1/2 to 2 on the RPM, the brake and battery light come on. It's a '97 Altima, and I don't think the alternator/battery has ever been replaced. When I get to 4 on the RPM, they begin to blink. Last night, while driving home, my CD would cut off for no reason, then right back on. And when I parked it at home, I came out fifteen minutes later and it wouldn't start. I'm almost sure it's the battery/alternator .... what do you guys think? (and i've checked my brake fluid, it's fine)

I suspect the TFI module is bad. Could it cause a draw on the battery with the ignition off while sitting?

The factory finish on a new car is unique. It cannot not be duplicated by wax or polish. These things actually destroy the factory finish.
Isn't there something better in the year 2007 that will actually preserve the finish?

2007-09-02 00:58:44 · 3 answers · asked by Anonymous

Wax consists of solid particles that leave swirl markes in the paint. these marks remove the factory finish over time.

Is there a true new car treatment that will not hurt the factory finish?

Please.... none of the common every day waxes on the market today.
They all consists of cheap abrasive based wax or a water based product that begins to dull the next day.
not PTFE treatments they destroy the paints finish.
New ideas only please. I am looking for new technology in automotive detailing.

I drive a 4 Speed 94 Tercel. My car is lowered and I recently went over a bump and messed up my exhaust... causing it to have an exhaust leak.

Everyone told me it's still drivable.

Now, I took it out for a spin after a week on the highway to pick my friend up who is 8 miles away from my house and as soon as I got back on the highway, I was moving really really slow, and I was basically FLOORING it and I noticed my speed was dropping from 70 to 50 and people were honking like crazy...

I was fortunate to be close to my exit near my home.

Now the engine completely died and I had to basically glide the car to a safe spot in a high school.

I waited for a few minutes... and then I restarted it by just reving and reving. I started driving it, then it dies after I press the brakes. Then I restarted it again and it dies and I start it up again and just kept revving and revving just to keep the engine alive until I reached my house.

What just happen? Is it because of the exhaust leak?

I am having major problems with my 93 Mustang. It is 4 cyl 2.3L LX; auto tranny and the problem is that when I start the car, or I am driving and decided that I must stop...my car does this weird thing where the RPM's move up and down and you can hear the engine sputtering. When I put the car in park, RPM's go back to normal and everything seems ok, until it starts doing that damn problem again. So at a stop light, I literally have to put my car in park and pray it won't cut off. If it does, I just turn it back on again any my car acts as if nothing ever happened. Please help!!

I have a '96 Toyota Avalon with about 96,000 miles on it
that I keep running for my teenager. It is leaking fluid, but
we never let it run out of anything. We believe it's oil, but
until everything is thoroughly cleaned, how can you tell what
or from where?
Thanks.
